Has anyone had success using the S/PDIF digital output on a multi-effects processor?
I’ve tried a few different digital audio cables, and each appears to achieve different results. All cables were purchased on Amazon.
- Mogami 2064 (75 ohm)
- Amazon Basics (110 ohm)
- C2G 29116 Velocity (75 ohm)
- Standard RCA (75 ohm)
The Mogami cable was expensive ($50), but it appears to deliver the best results. The others were all relatively inexpensive.
EDIT: The experience with the EnoAudio Mogami cable ended up being disastrous.
I’m using a Focusrite Saffire Pro audio interface. My understanding is that you need to set your interface to sync with your S/PDIF source.
I’ve experimented with a Line 6 Pod X3 Live, and a Boss GT-8. I appear to get the best results from the GT-8.
