What Makes a Great Musician

Why do some musicians stand out above the rest? I have identified three points to pinpoint this issue.

Anatomy – Not everyone’s body works exactly the same. Variations can range from smooth to convulsive movement. The makeup of the body chemistry plays a role in how well you can manage your instrument.

Personality – The personality of a person flavors not only the note being played, but what they choose to play in the first place. A person with a “dead” personality can be an excellent musician without getting much attention.

Dynamics – The ability to produce a different outcome based on what is required for the music. For example, a very “live” room may require lower playing volumes than what is generally needed.
