I’ve started my collection of vintage POD’s. There are a few different types, and each has a slightly different sound.
The first version of the POD doesn’t contain the text “Version 2.0”. This is said to be the POD version 1.
The original logo was seen on the first release of the POD 2.0. This was later updated to a square logo.
The newest POD 2.0 has a 3-digit display instead of 2 digits as seen on the original POD.
Of course, there are numerous others I hope to get too. The POD Pro is the rackmount version. I’m also looking to progress into some of the XT models, especially the XT Live.
Who knows, maybe these will be worth something someday. There is a popular consensus on online message boards that the original POD was warm sounding, whereas the newer models became more “digital”. POD’s are relatively cheap at present. I bought my latest addition for $35 – a POD 2.0 with the original logo.
