I had a disastrous experience today with a digital audio S/PDIF cable from EnoAudio. It was called “Mogami 2964 Digital Coaxial Cable 75 Ohm S/PDIF” on Amazon.
This cable cost $62 (shipping included.) I was testing it along with a few other digital audio cables that I bought to try.
It appears that the connectors were too tight. Ridiculous considering the price of the cable. I would actually consider this cable to be of a much lower standard than a similar Amazon Basics cable I purchased for $10.
The metal ring on one of the connectors ended up ripping apart while I disconnected the cable. It took the metal socket of my Saffire S/PDIF along with it!
You can remove the “E” from EnoAudio. It’s now a No Audio cable.
If you have any information regarding the repair of my S/PDIF socket please leave a comment below.
